Return to nature in Evolène-Région
Welcom in the heath of the Hérens Valley, in an wonderful panorama dominated by the famous Dent-Blanche.
The Evolène Region reunites all its assets to seduct holiday makers seeking authenticity and unspoiled nature. The alpine lifestyle has been particularly preserved in this valley, renowned for its cow matches and its cheeses made on the mountain pastures.
Located at 25km from Sion and easily reached by car or by bus, the Evolène Region is favourable to both relaxation and sports activities. The country's natural wealth and beauty can be discovered at one's own rhythm and pleasure via a network of footpaths (250km) and mountain bike tracks (100 km).
Other outdoor activities such as paintball, scooter rides, river fishing, via ferrata, tennis, are also available in the area.
In winter, there are over 100km of downhill and nordic skiing slopes. Snowshoe circuits are marked out. And the ski schools, mountain climbing, paragliding and plant schools are also at the visitor's disposal.
If one appreciates the region for its carnival, its concerts, exhibitions and craft markets, the jewels of this community's activities are without a doubt the « midsummer's festivities » (15 August) and the CIME (intercultural celebrations of mountain life).
